CELEBRATING NAUTANKI



Although once pronounced dead, Nautanki theatre has made a grand comeback due to undying efforts of Folk Threatre Expert Atul Yadvanshi. Nautanki is truly Indian form of Theatre is basically known for its visual spectacle and preponderance of song and dance effectively portraying a story.

India’s Vibrant Heritage of Music, Rhythms, Melodies, Glitter & Glamour of Nautanki Theatre will mesmerizes the audience by its theatrical spectacle. Under an able Direction of Thespian Atul Yadvanshi Nautanki with all its grandeur being staged with all elements right from Set, Properties, Costumes, Make-up, Light and acting of Actors is certainly a treat to watch.

Undoubtedly, Nautanki is one of our Intangible Cultural Heritages. It is one of the best possible of drama format available under the sky. It only needs exposure at the National and International level and one would see that whole world would be after adopting its very format. Team of Swarg Repertory will include 36 Members comprising of 11 Female and 25 Male Artists & Technicians. The 'Celebrating Nautanki' is a three days programme and shall be organized in three different locations across the country whereby, we will be presenting Three Nautanki on Three different days, as per detailed below:

1. DAY-1:

A play based on the original story of Munshi Premchand sensitizes the people about the Care of Old Age Family Members of our Family and society. The importance of Joint Family and Care for each other is highlighted.

2. DAY-2:

Play based on the Folk Tale of an impersonator (Bahuroopiya). Plight of Folk Artists beautifully portrayed in this play Bahuroopiya.

3. DAY-3:

The Iconic Love story of Laila Majnu with Arabic background will mesmerize the audience. The Parsi style of dialogues and vibrant Nautanki tunes combines to give audience an experience for Life Time.

The greater aim is to increase the visibility of the dying folk art form, showcase its theatrical strength and sensitize the Funders, Probable Funders, Print & Electronic Media, Opinion Makers and general public. Through Press & Social Media it will be well publicized making it a truly National Event. Audience will certainly experience the vibrant theatrical form which celebrates India’s History, Culture & Traditions. Undoubtedly it will be a lifetime experience for the Art Lovers, Opinion Makers, Press & General Public.
